A quick note about the world going in the direction of the EU...looking at their economic woes, I'd say that's working really well for them, definitely a direction we want to follow in. Or maybe not.

I'm not a big fan of the EU. I'm far more protectionist at this point. Until I can see a path to regional governments where the people have more control mechanisms over corporations, I fear a North American Unit would be strictly set up for ease of economics and not for human or civil rights. I don't trust the "market" to deal with situations in a national setting much less multi-national.
